Rumors have spread regarding the Golden Mattens Cock.  The rumors have been started because of articles written by Ad
Schaerlaeckens, a fancier in Holland who was a previous owner of the Golden Mattens Cock.  The articles have appeared in
the National Dutch Pigeon Newspaper called the NPO.  (Mr. Schaerlaeckens is a writer for this newspaper.)  His motivation 
for writing these allegations is unclear but what is clear is that his articles contain many incorrect statements.  Let's get the
facts straight shall we?

The first letter (below on this page ) was written by Hans Vultink of Holland.  Mr. Vultink bought the Golden Mattens from Ad
Schaerlaeckens and Ganus Family Loft then purchased Golden Mattens from Mr. Vultink.  Mr. Vultink's letter is in both Dutch
and English.
 
Following the letter from Mr. Vultink is an article written by Bart van Est, a writer in Holland.  The article is an interview with
Mr. Achiel Mattens - the fancier who bred the Golden Mattens cock and then gave the Golden Mattens to Ad Schaerlaeckens
as a gift for Ad's wife.  
   
And from Ganus Family Loft.  What do we have to say?  We have to say that contrary to Ad Schaerlaeckens writings, the
Golden Mattens cock is fertile and has been since he arrived at Ganus Family Loft.  Want proof?  Click on any of these

specializes in DNA testing the genetic identity of animals.  The certificates are for 4 birds bred off the Golden Mattens cock
